Judy Specht

Judy enjoys creating art in a variety of mediums, especially oil and pastel. Her style is consistently representational, inspired by classical principles but incorporating modern ideas. Lately she's been experimenting with miniature landscapes, but her favorite subjects are portraits of people and animals, and art inspired by Biblical themes and concepts.

Judy has lived in the state of Maryland all her life, studying at the Maryland Institute of Fine Art, the University of Maryland and the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. Today she makes her home on the Eastern Shore's beautiful Kent Island, renowned for its delicious blue crabs, wide variety of wetland wildlife, deep sense of community, and gorgeous sunsets over the Chesapeake Bay. In recent years this area has begun to be recognized as a haven for talented artists of many disciplines. Local artists gather at the Kent Island Federation of Arts (KIFA), a unique gallery housed in a charming Victorian mansion in historic downtown Stevensville. Judy is very active in the KIFA community and you can often find her work there on display.

She loves to meet new people and receive feedback and suggestions about her art. She invites you to browse this site and if you have any questions at all, about existing artwork or about commissioning that special piece you've always wanted done (or anything else!), please don't hesitate to drop Judy a message and say hello.

In all things she dedicates her efforts to God - hoping to create art that comforts, uplifts and inspires others, while glorifying His presence in her life.
