December 21, 2018 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury. This month’s event is hosted indoors only – so that means no artists and crafters outside on the street – but there is still tons to do and see inside! So don your ugliest sweater for a night of shopping, gallery shows, and more.
3rd Friday will not be hosting artists outdoors again until April, but the Plaza will be beautifully lit and is still fun to stroll along as you head to indoor locations. Salisbury Wicomico Art Council, aka SWAC, will be offering indoor space to host 3rd Friday vendors in their new location on Church Street next to St. Peters Church – so you can enjoy all the 3rd Friday fun all warm and cozy inside, with vendors, caroling, kids crafts and merriment. The Brick Room is also offering indoor space specifically to metalwork and woodwork vendors – so be sure to stop by for last minute gifts.
The shops are ready to dazzle 3rd Friday goers with great sales right in time for the holidays. Kuhn’s Jewelers will extend its hours until 7 p.m. on 3rd Friday, for its amazing sale on diamonds – 25% off. Sip some cider and do some last minute ‘Santa” shopping at Barefoot Baby & Kids Boutique– with 50% off all holiday-themed clothing and gifts. Plus, Season’s Best Antiques will also be open late with special sales, refreshments, and unique gift ideas you definitely wont find anywhere else.
Be sure to stop by N. Division Street for a quick photo in front of the Downtown Salisbury Holiday Tree – it’s a perfect photo opportunity for selfies and group shots. Right across the street in the Downtown Salisbury Visitor Center, Santa’s Elves will be hard at work hosting another sold-out night of Gingerbread House Decorating. This annual holiday tradition always fills up fast, and everyone has a great time decorating their very own pre-fabricated gingerbread house with all sorts of treats and goodies.
Art lovers, be sure to stop by Salisbury Art Space for its 28th Annual Members Exhibition in the Main Gallery, with Jack Knight’s Amazing Grace Series in the Foyer Gallery and portraits and landscapes by Barbara Kern-Bush in the Robinson Gallery. Plus, the Salisbury Art Space gift shop will be open with locally crafted gifts for holiday shopping. Salisbury Art Space is located on the lower level of the Salisbury University Gallery Building.
The downtown bars and restaurants are ready with live music for 3rd Friday. Roadie Joe’s Bar and Grill will have the sweet serenades of KT Tuminello for the happy hour crowd from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., plus DJ Blendz late night. Brew River is having the Live 97.5 Christmas Party with On the Edge. Market Street Inn will have late night jams with DJ Juan and Mojo’s will have late night DJ Paul Love.
3rd Friday is a downtown economic development initiative and a project of the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District and The City of Salisbury. For More Information: 3rdFridaySby.com
