February might be chilly but there but we have a few fun Valentine’s themed-events that might warm you up. These final weeks of winter are a great time to get away to our small towns and enjoy all things local before spring starts driving in the bigger crowds.
So join us this month for flowers, art, dancing, shopping and local wine and beer. Here’s the top happenings that have some heart.
Floral Arrangements
Looking for a floral arrangement for your sweetheart? Stop by Patti’s Petals Florist, Gardens and Gifts in Denton for their “Valentine Preview” on Tuesday, February 12th from 5:00 to 8:00. Enjoy refreshments and see all the arrangements on display and enter to win a free arrangement.
Wine and Cheese Pairing
Bring your sweetheart or someone special in for a Wine & Cheese Pairing at Harvest Ridge Winery in Marydel near Denton on Friday, February 15th from 6pm – 8pm. Learn how to pair six different types of cheese with local wines. Tickets are $25 per person and the tasting is limited to 20 people. Reserve your ticket here.
Go On a Scavenger Hunt
Like a good scavenger hunt? Hunt for the Heart is going on now in downtown Snow Hill until February 13th. Search for the heart at participating downtown businesses for your chance to win a Valentine’s prize basket filled with items and gift certificates from local Snow Hill businesses! Pick up an entry form at any of participating business, search for the hearts, get your form stamped, and drop off completed forms at one of the drop box locations! Winner announced on February 13th.
Take a Beer Tour
Celebrate FeBREWary with MD Craft Beer in Downtown Salisbury. Collect all 6 signatures and enter-to-win cool prizes! Game cards available now at the Downtown Salisbury Visitor Center, Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce / Salisbury, MD, or any participating business.
Go to a Ball
Dance the night away in Bridgeville, DE at Heritage Shores’ Valentine’s Ball. The evening features an extensive menu with appetizers, a plated dinner and dessert station along with live entertainment. Reservations are required.
For the Kids
Kids getting cabin fever? Bring them to Berlin on February 9th for a Kids Valentine’s Day Event. Bring them by the Berlin Welcome Center (14 S. Main Street) to decorate their Valentine’s Day bags. Then we will visit the local shops and restaurants for goodies. Take them on a free carriage ride while you’re there.
Enjoy an Exhibit
The Art League of Ocean City is featuring “have a heART” in the Spotlight Gallery for the month of February. Heart-themed artworks are up for silent auction to benefit our Art & Soul workshop. This monthly workshop focuses on the creative process of art-making to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well being of individuals of all ages.
Take Part in a Workshop
On Friday, February 22nd, the Art League of Ocean City is holding its Art and Soul Workshop entitled “Heart in Art” Celebrating Love. You will learn string art techniques to create a string art heart. With each string attached and wrapped, you will be given the opportunity to reflect on who has made an impact on your heart, large and small, positive or negative, while focusing on your journey and the why’s.
Go for a Winter Spirits Stroll
Stroll through downtown historic Princess Anne and enjoy delicious wine and spirit tastings on Saturday, February 16th from 1pm – 4pm. Tickets are $30. Find out more or order your tickets.
