1st Annual Crisfield Spring Yard Sale & yART Sale

The Crisfield community will be holding yard sales. Sales or art, both old and new, and art supplies such as frames are also encouraged.
Want all the benefit of decluttering with none of the work of hosting a sale? Support Crisfield Community Radio WBYC 107.3, by donating items, which can be dropped off at the Somerset Arts Council, 26430 Burton Ave in Crisfield on Mon, Tues, Wed & Fridays from 10 am to 2pm. These items will be sold at the radio station at 4 South Seventh Street, Crisfield (across from Big Willey’s).
Hangin’ Out Art Show

Plein Air Crisfield
May 22 – 26, 2019
Crisfield will host 40 nationally recognized and local plein air artists to paint authentic, beautiful Crisfield and the surrounding areas. Plein Air means “open air”, as all paintings are created outdoors, on location without the use of photography for reference. The event is a casual, non-competitive painting event, a celebration of painting and friendship. The artists register and pay a $40 entry fee that includes a warm Crisfield welcome featuring a waterfront dinner party, a Welcome cocktail party at the Bay Vault and a BBQ dinner from our own Billie Chandler. Fresh paintings are available for sale at the end of the event. A percentage of all painting sales benefit the Crisfield A & E District
Wednesday, May 22, 6:30-8:30pm – Meet the artists and watch them paint during the Sunset Paint Out at the City Dock. Artists will be setting up and painting in the area of the City Dock to capture one of our famous sunsets. Paintings are available for purchase.
Thursday, May 23 -ALL DAY – Artists will be on location in and around Crisfield.

Friday, May 24 – Artists paint on Smith Island with a pop up art show and sale at the Smith Island Cultural Center – Ewell
Saturday, May 25 – 4-7 – The fresh paintings are for sale at the Customs House during the 4th Saturday Bay Stroll. Credit cards are accepted.
Sunday, May 26 – 12-4 -The fresh paintings are for sale at the Customs House during the Soft Shell Crab Festival. Credit cards are accepted.
Smith Island Arts Festival
May 25 – 11am to 4pm
The annual Smith Island Arts Festival! Make an art day of it! Catch a boat from Crisfield and meet us back here for the evening for the 4th Saturday Bay Stroll. The festival will take place at the Smith Island Cultural Center with outdoor artist tables, music, food, and a photo contest. 4th Saturday Bay Stroll – Welcome Summer and Plein Air

J Millard Tawes Crab & Clam Bake

The J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam Bake is a Maryland must-attend, see-and-be-seen political institution, equal parts seafood and schmooze. The annual celebration is named in honor of Crisfield native, J. Millard Tawes, the 54th Governor of the State of Maryland. It is described in Frommers Travel Guides as “an outdoor all-you-can-eat affair featuring crabs, clams, fish, corn on the cob, and watermelon, and in election years, lots of politicians.” Sponsored by the Crisfield Chamber of Commerce.

National Hard Crab Derby

Crisfield’s National Hard Crab Derby is an annual Labor Day weekend event. The unique crab themed festival features crab races, crab cooking and picking contests, carnival rides, arts and crafts, vendors, live entertainment, beauty pageants, a parade, fireworks and more. Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure

Brown Box Theatre Project’s 9th Annual Free Outdoor Shakespeare Tour, Measure for Measure will be performed under the stars in idyllic outdoor venues All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public. A Taste of Smith Island

For the cost of $55, guests receive transportation from Crisfield to Smith Island and back via the Chelsea Lane Tyler, and a menu consisting of Smith Island favorites, including the cake of course!
