Exploring the Arts, Food, Live Music and More this July

Summer is in full force here on Delmarva. Summer festivals, music performances, art exhibitions and, of course, the freshest food from land and sea, abounds. While a visit to our area may conjure up visions of big crowds and lots of traffic, there are plenty of off the beaten path options to get away and explore our small towns.

Here’s a roundup of July happenings and check out our itineraries to get tips on planning a visit.

Backyard BBQ

July 6th from 11am – Midnight
Blackwater Distilling & Tavern , 405 Cleat Street, Stevensville

Bring your family, friends, neighbors and loved ones for a day of drinks, food, music, games and good times. This event is a community gathering and fundraiser for the Chesapeake Bay. Music outside by the Patio by two fantastic local musicians: Trini is a hybrid of influences ranging from Classic & Modern Rock, Pop, and various other genres. Can you figure them all out? Trini will take the mic from Noon – 4pm. Our second act, Annapolis born Singer-Songwriter, Brendan Lane, skillfully blends a lively mix of Rock’n’Roll, blues, and contemporary pop elements into his music and has entertained audiences spanning three continents. Tickets are $5.

Taste of Cambridge: Crab Cook-off

July 13, 2019; 5-10pm Tickets: $30 in advance; $35 at door
Event takes place at Poplar Street and Race Street in downtown Cambridge

You be the judge! Taste, Compare, and vote for your favorite crab dishes. Tickets are required for tasting. It’s free to visit the festival and enjoy live music, vendors, crafts for kids, and festival competitions. Get there early to sign up for the kids Watermelon Eating Contest at the kid’s zone!


Heritage Shores Hall of Arts (Bridgeville)

Throughout the month of July, enjoy photography by professional and amateur resident photographic artists of Heritage Shores (55 and better community). More Info: www.facebook.com/pg/heritage shores/services/


Sunset Park Party Night

Enjoy local music at Sunset Park in downtown Ocean City. Concerts are free but bring a chair. Beverages including beer available for purchase.

Artist Talk with Patricia Dubroof

July 12, 6-7pm. Meet the Ocean City Center for the Arts July artist-in-residence, featured this month in Studio E, and learn more about her artwork and creative process. FREE!


2nd Saturday Serenades – Melodies at the Museum

Free outdoor concert in front of the Milton Historical Society on July 13, 11am – 2pm at the Milton Historical Society featuring Flick Jams – Blues on the Broadkill with Milton’s own Connor Filicko,

2nd Saturday Fun with Watercolors

The Caroline County Council of Arts invites you to join Foundry Artist Sue Bartin on Saturday, July 13th from 2-4 pm for “Fun With Watercolors” This event is free, but registration is required to save your seat!

Check out the The High & Wides on July 14 from 6-7pm. Bring chair or blanket for a summer evening of music in beautiful Berlin.


206 Tuesdays at Six

Tuesday July 16, 2019  6-8pm at Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts,  206 S. Commerce Street, Centreville

Take a break from the beach scene and stop by the Ocean City Center for the Arts for another screening brought to you by the Ocean City Film Festival. This month, enjoy films created for the Ocean City Film Challenge! Meet the filmmakers and join the after-film discussion, all for just $5 admission.


Free Swing Dance Concert at Riverwalk Amphitheater in Salisbury

July 27, 2019, 6:30 p.m
Salisbury Arts and Entertainment District is pleased to announce a free swing dance concert with the Neon Swing X-Perience to be hosted at the Pohanka Riverwalk Amphitheater on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.  The concert will be free, and open to the public, with beer, wine and water available for purchase outside.  Bring your own lawn chair, sit on the amphitheater steps or dance the night away!  Find out more »
