With only a few more weeks left of winter, a little extra light in our days and the urge to beat cabin fever (and all the other fevers, flus, etc.), comes plenty to do on our Main Streets and small towns. A weekend getaway is just the ticket to get ready for a new season and getting out of the house.

Salisbury Art Space – Gallery Exhibition: RENEWAL
March 4- 26, Wed – Sa, 12 – 5 p.m.
As we anxiously await nature to awaken around us, we invite artists to be inspired by physical, spiritual or metaphorical reawakening!  Open to all media. Judged by award winning watercolorist, Nancy Mysak. 

4th Annual Ocean City Film Festival
March 5-8, Various Showtimes
Founded in 2017, the Ocean City Film Festival is a collaboration with the Art League of Ocean City to integrate visual media into the artistic community of Ocean City and surrounding regions. This function provides an invaluable networking opportunity and cultural exchange as filmmakers from all around are invited to share their work with each other and the public in a very intimate environment. The Ocean City Film Festival promotes and prioritizes uniqueness and diversity in our annual selection.

First Friday Event
March 6, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., The Cecil County Arts Council – 135 E. Main St. Elkton, MD 
March at the arts council brings local alcohol ink artists Jennifer Lex Wojnar, Catherine Houghton and Julie Cargill together for a group exhibition.  Their exhibition, “Imagininks” will display the artists’ works with alcohol ink on various mediums.   ​In conjunction with the featured show, the open show, “Edibles” will hang in the back gallery. Light refreshments will be available for you to enjoy and music for the evening will be provided by Ricky Holbrook. This is a free and family friendly event.  CCAC is accessible to all.

British Invasion Experience
March 7th, 5:30 p.m., Wicomico Youth & Civic Center, Salisbury
The members of The British Invasion Experience are dedicated to engaging audiences as they flash back to the British groups of the 60’s. The band pays tribute to the entire genre that changed the face of music, including The Beatles, The Who, The Hollies and Led Zeppelin, providing audiences a memorable, electrifying trip down memory lane. Tickets include an English-themed dinner served at 5:30 p.m. The menu includes garden salad, fish & chips, Shepard’s pie, glazed ham carving station, cabbage, string beans, rolls & butter, chef’s dessert table, iced tea, water and coffee. There will also be a cash bar.

The High Kings Concert
March 11, 7 p.m., Ocean City Performing Arts Center
The High Kings is an Irish folk group formed in Dublin in 2008. Their first three studio albums appeared at number three or higher on the Billboard world music chart, the first two went platinum in Ireland, and all of their albums charted in Ireland.

2nd Friday in Berlin consists of Shops offering extended hours, Culinary Arts showcased in our many Eateries and Live Music. Come for dinner,  browse our many shopping attractions and don’t forget Dessert at the Local Bakery or Ice Cream Shop!  From Wine Bar to Book Store, Art Gallery to Bakery, Women’s Boutiques to Garden Shop, we have something for everyone!

Elkton’s Lepre-Con Bar Crawl
Friday, March 13-15th, 4:00pm 
Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Downtown Elkton! Party starts Friday, March 13th at 4pm and is PACKED with Live music, DJ’s, Food, Dancing, Drinking, Giveaways, and family activities all weekend ending on Sunday, March 15th at 6pm. The streets are open for alcohol carry so you can visit all the wonderful places Downtown has to offer. The bar crawl (Lepre-Con) happening all day on Saturday includes…C3ntral Tavern, Elk River Brewing Company, Spork, Minihanes, and the North Street Hotel (Jimmy’s). Each location bringing their own specials and events to the weekend. Stay Tuned for what everyone has to offer! And don’t forget this is just the Weekend’s events we will be CELEBRATING again on Tuesday March 17th!  

Second Saturday at the Artsway

Join Foundry Artist Rob Brownlee-Tomasso on Saturday, March 14th from 1-3 pm to see a demonstration of his digital illustration process and the project that is being planned for the pavilion panels at the visitor center. This event is free, but registration is required to save your seat!

St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival
March 14th-– 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Coastal Highway 60th Street to 45th Street in Ocean City. Ends at 45th Street Village – Free event, kid friendly –  Much anticipated Ocean City event! Everyone loves to be Irish at Ocean City’s famous parade. Marching bands, floats, local celebrities. – Food and drink for purchase at 45th Street Village.

Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival
March 14th, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Atlantic Sands Hotel
The Harry K Foundation proudly hosts its 30th Annual Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Show at the Atlantic Sands Hotel and Conference Center in beautiful Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Over the years, the Chocolate Festival has evolved from a contest to a restaurant promotion. All proceeds from this wonderful event will go directly feeding hungry children throughout the state of Delaware through the Harry K Foundation School Food Pantries, Backpack Program and the Baby Pantry.

10th Annual Milford Pub Crawl
March 14, 6-9 p.m.
The Milford Pub Crawl is unique as it routes crawlers through downtown merchants who host local breweries, wineries, and distilleries in their shops. As the crawl progresses, it follows along to our downtown pubs, taverns, bars, and restaurants. Downtown Milford merchants will be open and hosting crawlers from 6-9p. Downtown/Uptown watering holes will be open until 1a. *21+ entry required for all downtown merchants hosting alcohol vendors.* A race bib is your ticket into these shops

The Studio Nocturne Painting: 3-Day Workshop with David Lussier

Learn to paint convincing nocturnes in the studio. Explore the nuances and color effects of moonlight along with the various transitional effects of warm and cool light from street lamps, window light and even candle light.
